He knows how a beautiful smile opens many doors in a person’s life by making them more confident and outgoing and helping their self-esteem. He has learned through many years of practice that it takes a team effort to achieve a goal of a great smile. He has created an environment that brings everyone together as a team with a common goal.

Dr. Catharine Borders knows that a smile from a loved one, friend or complete stranger can brighten someone’s day. She chose to become an orthodontist to create beautiful smiles for her patients that will give them the confidence and self-esteem to smile and brighten the day of those around them.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry from the University of Louisville. She graduated valedictorian from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. After dental school, she attended residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry, receiving her certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and Master of Science in dentistry. Dr. Borders served as chief resident during her residency and currently serves as a part-time professor of orthodontics at UT-Houston dental school.
Dr. Borders is a board-certified orthodontist.
Needville Braces
Traditional braces are one of the most effective orthodontic tools available. They are composed of metal or ceramic brackets that are affixed to the teeth and then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work in concert to exert gentle pressure that gradually moves the teeth into their desired positions with regular adjustments by our doctors.
Needville braces are an excellent option for addressing complex tooth issues. Due to their ability to align teeth and close gaps more quickly than other treatments, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces do not require the use of more advanced technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments may necessitate, making Needville braces a cost-effective orthodontic solution.
Needville Invisalign
Invisalign is an extremely popular alternative to traditional braces for both patients and orthodontists. Instead of brackets and bands, the Needville Invisalign system employs a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten the teeth.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and are custom-fitted to fit snugly over the teeth. To keep the teeth moving in the desired direction, patients usually need to swap their clear trays out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the sequence. The Invisalign system can only be successful if the recommended guidelines are strictly followed! Aligners must be worn for 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. Failure to follow these guidelines can impede the results and add time to the orthodontic process.
